WEEK 1

Monday 26th November
Today I decided with my level design team who's going to do what in the group and because there are two artist's (me and Conner) we decided to both go on Maya and design different aspects that are going into our level so we both do as much as each other and we don't both create the same thing by accident, so we split that evenly and then Ben the designer is going to get started in the programme UDK and do his part in the level design that as a designer he needs to do.
So as i need to go in Maya i got pictures of the objects i need to create in Maya and re-drew them on paper and modified them slightly so it isn't copyrighting, and created some orthographics of these objects to make it easier for me and get me a better overall grade for the project.
So far i have only created one of the light switches that will go on the walls in the level, i also textured it so its also the right colour i need it to be. My group of three is creating, it is just a basic everyday light switch that i created and you can look at it on my pictures post i will create to show of the work i will create in Maya for this project as i go along the project and i will write a little paragraph explaining what i created for each object i create so you can see what it is if u didn't already know and how it will be fitted into the game level.

Tuesday 27th November
Today i jumped straight onto the computer and started to do some important research for resources that i could use, mainly just pictures of the things my group needs me to create in Maya for example a hospital bed or the certain rail etc...When i finished that i started creating the table that is going to be in our game in the level, because there is so much features on the table it took me a while to create therefor i did not finish the table that lesson, i got as far as halfway there, however the second half i had to create was a lot more complex.

Thursday 29th November
Today as soon as we got into the lesson i once again jumped straight onto the computer and went straight onto Maya because i wanted to continue creating the table and because today's lesson was a short one my aim was to finish the table and luckily i did right at the end of the lesson, the table took me so long because it has a lot of complex features like the wheel of the table at the bottom which involved me creating a lot of different meshes mainly just the Cube and the Cylinder and create them into separate parts like either the actual wheel itself or the metal bit that holds the wheel in place, once i created these separate meshes i would put them in place together where id want them to be and the merge them together so it would become once whole mesh, and i needed to do that a lot which is why the table was quite a complex object to create however i enjoyed it.

Friday 30th November
Today i created my doors for the hospital however i find it hard to create UV's so i decided that instead of creating a object and then UV-ing it straight after, instead of that i will create all the objects i need to first and then i will UV them all once they are all completed. Today i only got the doors done because i spent nearly all the day trying to UV a object and it was not successful so it was a good idea deciding to create all the objects first and then UV-ing them.
