Tuesday 22th January
Today is one of the last days i have to finish of my sculpting and UV-ing so that is what i am doing today because on Thursday 24th January our games are going to be tested out from the younger Games Development pupils. So today I'm just finishing up and giving all the things i have created to Ben to add to the game level.

WEEK 6
Monday 14th January
Today i finished of UV-ing my table, however i didn't need a UV to finish my table so instead i just added a texture that it required to look finished on it. This took me half the lesson to do because i spent time trying to get just the right colour i wanted and selecting the right faces to texture and not accidentally texturing a face that i wasn't meant to and overall ruining my table. Now that i am done with the table i can give it to 'Ben' to add to the game level.
Tuesday 15th January
So as i am texturing also known as UV-ing my objects now i decided to do the doors for the hospital now, so i started selecting the faces and planar mapping them, however as i done it i made a big mess of them and got myself confused with which face is what on the actual doors themselves, so because i didn't no which was which i couldn't UV because i would've UV-d all the wrong things and made a big mess of everything so i had to delete it all and try to do it all again the next day i come in college.
Thursday 17th January
As i had messed up on Tuesday trying to UV i came in today and re-done all the UV faces for my door and this time i new which faces belonged to which part of the doors so because i spent all lesson selecting faces then planar mapping them but i split the UV texture map in half, so i could use one half for one thing of the doors and the other half for the other texture for the doors. By the end of the lesson i had finally UV-d my doors.

WEEK 5
Monday 7th January
Today i had to move all my objects i created of one computer to another, because the computer i was using had a updated version of Maya on it and it would not let me use the objects i created in it on the older version of Maya, so in order to do this, before the Christmas holidays i went onto the computer i had been using previously which was the one with the updated version of the Maya programme, and turn all my assets i had created from a Binary file into a OBJ file so that way i could then open them all and re save them as Maya binary files, then they can be re opened in the older version of Maya and this way i didn't lose all my hard work and have to start all the way from scratch.
As i had already created most the things i need to in Maya its time for me to start UV-ing my work to add life onto them, and put them into the game engine for my level designer 'Ben', i had already done my lift button box, so i decided to do the hospital table now. I had got as far as the wood bit of the table because i forgot how to UV things due to the holidays.
Tuesday 8th January
Today i carried on with my table, and started UV-ing the metal covers for the wheels of the table, this took me a long time because i have a lot of poly faces facing in different directions so in order for the UV-ing not to mess up i had to UV them all separate from each other, but by the end of the lesson i had done it and was more then pleased with the look of it so far.

WEEK 4
Monday 17th December
On Monday i decided to learn how to properly UV my objects because my team partner Ben was requesting specific objects i had created to go into the game level but i could not give him anything because none of it was UV'd or textured so i thought i should get my tutor Simon to come and help me learn how to do it, so he came over and ran me through the process and i picked up how to do it. So i started UV-ing my object the 'lift buttons'.
Tuesday 18th December
Tuesday i carried on working the UV's for the 'lift buttons', i had already done the metal texture all on it and i chose a rusty kind of metal texture because it had something about it that made the lift buttons look more scary and horror themed, which was perfect because that's the theme of our level design. All that was left to do was to create to icons that showed which each button does if pressed, to do this i had to go into Adobe Photoshop and create the text add the effect i wanted to it and then import it into Maya and it would go on my object i had created. I am more then happy with the outcome of the way it looks now.

WEEK 3
Monday 10th December
Today i started creating some scissors and because of the way the top of the shape is it took a while trying to get the top bit the way i wanted it to be but because i asked for some guidance on how to do it, one of my tutors Simon helped me out and showed me how to do it so i than started again and did the top bit the way i wanted to so it looked how i wanted it to. Then i carried on with the rest of my scissors and got to the bottom piece of it and then i still had a problem trying to create a sharp angled point at the bottom however i just used the cut face tool but that left a whole in the bottom which i didn't want to be there.
Thursday 13th December
Because i ended on Monday in a problem i decided to start up today and ask for some advice and how to solve this problem and i was told to auto merge the points together to create the point i want and then use the move tool to place it where i wanted it to be, so i did and it worked out fine for me.
Friday 14th December
My team member Ben asked me today to create a lift switch board for the level so that is what i was creating today however i am still completely unsure of how to UV anything so i needed Simon or Drew here for me and they are not the tutors in lesson today so i was unable to complete it, i completed the sculpting of the lift switch board, the only thing i haven't done is UV it.
